Andie grew up as a mostly-barefooted, Davidson County tomboy. It wasn't unusual for her to show up right before dark "muddy and bloody": muddy from splashing through creeks and bloody from scratches ‘ earned' while swinging on hanging vines. Her enthusiasm for exploration and adventure took her to California to pursue a career in advertising after graduating from UNC-CH with a BA in English.
